Changelog
- May 4, 2026description
FocusDragon is a free, student-built focus app for macOS — built for anyone who wants to get real work done without being interrupted by the internet. This extension is the Chrome companion to the FocusDragon desktop app. It reads your block list from the app and enforces those blocks inside Chrome, including incognito windows. WHAT IT DOES • Redirects blocked sites to a clean "Site Blocked" page instead of letting them load • Supports subdomain matching (blocking example.com also blocks www.example.com, mail.example.com, etc.) • Works in incognito once you enable "Allow in incognito" (required for blocks that can't be bypassed) • Respects every lock set in the app: timer locks, schedule locks, random-text locks, breakable locks • Does nothing at all when no focus session is active WHAT IT DOESN'T DO • No account required — nothing to sign up for • No tracking, no analytics, no telemetry • No data leaves your Mac — the extension only talks to the local FocusDragon app via Chrome's native messaging • No ads, no upsells, no premium tier REQUIREMENTS • The FocusDragon macOS app (free): https://focusdragon.vercel.app • macOS 13 or later • Chrome 116 or later PRIVACY Full privacy policy: https://focusdragon.vercel.app/privacy Short version: no data is collected, transmitted, or shared. Ever. ABOUT FOCUSDRAGON FocusDragon was built by a student in Dubai who was trying to get off games and couldn't afford Cold Turkey Pro or Freedom. So he built his own, made it free, and open-sourced it. The extension sends that snippet only to the Mac app on your machine, via Chrome's native messaging — never to any server we run. The Mac app then either uses an Anthropic API key you provide (free, BYOK) or forwards it through a small relay we operate. We don't store the snippet and don't train on it. The extension never reads page text on banking, payments, brokerage, email, identity / auth, password-manager or healthcare sites — only the URL and tab title flow on those domains. It never reads page text in incognito tabs either. Both exclusions are hard-coded; you don't have to enable them. If you don't turn AI assist on, no page text is read at all. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO • No account required — nothing to sign up for • No tracking, no analytics, no telemetry • No data is sent to any external server by this extension itself — all communication is with the local FocusDragon Mac app • No ads REQUIREMENTS • The FocusDragon macOS app (free): https://focusdragon.app • macOS 13 or later • Chrome 116 or later PRIVACY Full privacy policy: https://focusdragon.app/privacy ABOUT FOCUSDRAGON FocusDragon was built by a student in Dubai who was trying to get off games and couldn't afford Cold Turkey Pro or Freedom.
