About
Watch anything in your language. SubVibe overlays AI-translated subtitles on streaming video - YouTube, Netflix, ZDF, Deutsche Welle, and Amazon Prime Video - turning the video's existing captions into natural, idiomatic subtitles in your language. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Pre-translated AHEAD of the playhead - SubVibe reads the whole subtitle track up front and translates the upcoming lines before you reach them, so there's no lag. A small counter on the toolbar shows how far ahead it's ready. • Perfect sync - subtitles are keyed to the exact playback time. Scrub, pause, or rewatch and they follow. • Cached & free on replay - once a video is translated it's saved locally on your device, so watching it again is instant and costs nothing. • Dual subtitles - show the translation, the original line, or both stacked together. Great for language learning. • 30+ languages, with right-to-left support (Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu) and a bundled Persian font. • Per-video settings - language(s), on-screen position (drag each line where you want it), text size, and a timing nudge, all remembered per video. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - BRING YOUR OWN KEY SubVibe uses YOUR OpenAI API key, stored only on your device. Caption text is sent directly from your browser to OpenAI to translate it - there are no SubVibe servers, no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Translation costs a few cents per hour of video; cached replays are free. OPEN SOURCE SubVibe is fully open source (MIT) with no build step - the published code is exactly the source you can read and verify at https://github.com/nuved/subvibe. That's how you can be sure your key never leaves your device. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the SubVibe popup, paste your OpenAI key, and pick your target language(s). 2. Play a video. Turn the player's own captions ON once so SubVibe can read the track - then it pre-translates the rest in sync. 3. Re-watch anytime - it replays from your local cache for free. Note: a video must have a caption/subtitle track for SubVibe to translate. SubVibe renders its own overlay and does not modify the site. Made by Nimanou · https://nimanou.com
