BuyTime is a lightweight Chrome extension designed to help you defeat impulse spending. Whenever you try to buy something online, BuyTime intercepts the click, calculates the "opportunity cost" of the item in terms you actually care about, and enforces a mandatory cooling-off timer before you can proceed.

- Mandatory Cooling-Off: A customisable timer prevents you from instantly checking out, forcing you to step away and consider if you actually want the item.
- Smart Detection: Automatically detects "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" buttons across major e-commerce platforms.
- Custom Counterfactuals: Set your own custom comparisons (e.g., gym sessions, streaming subscriptions) right from the settings page.
- Element Whitelist: Accidentally triggered on a non-buy button? A single click whitelists the element so it never bothers you again.

BuyTime is built with a strictly "Zero-Knowledge" architecture:

- 100% Client-Side: The extension runs entirely on your local machine.
- No Analytics: There are no tracking scripts, no analytics, and no external requests.
- Local Storage: Your salary, custom items, and settings are stored locally on your device via Chrome's sync storage.
