About
LED-Lit District is a local-first dashboard extension for organizing your Chrome new tab workspace. It lets you save frequently used pages as link cards, organize them into groups, and customize the dashboard with themes, backgrounds, card appearance settings, and layout options. Main features: ◆ Link cards Save frequently used web pages as cards. Each card can include a title, URL, and card image. ◆ Group organization Organize cards into groups. You can arrange links by purpose, project, category, hobby, or any structure that fits your workflow. ◆ Profile switching Create multiple profiles and switch between different dashboard setups depending on your purpose. You can separate cards and groups for work, hobbies, research, or other use cases. ◆ Dashboard search Search across your registered cards and groups. This makes it easier to find links even when your dashboard grows. ◆ Themes and appearance customization Customize the dashboard with theme presets, backgrounds, blur settings, card appearance options, and layout settings. You can keep the dashboard simple or create a more atmospheric workspace. ◆ User-controlled screenshot support LED-Lit District can use the currently active page as a screenshot source only when you explicitly perform a related action. It does not automatically browse registered websites in the background, and it does not automatically collect screenshots from sites. ◆ Incognito mode support When the user allows LED-Lit District to run in incognito mode from Chrome’s extension settings, the extension can also be used in incognito windows. It is configured to operate in a separate incognito context from normal browsing windows. ◆ JSON import and export Export and import dashboard data as JSON. Limited import support is also available for some existing dashboard-style JSON formats, focusing on group names, card titles, and URLs. Compatibility with all JSON files or future format changes is not guaranteed. ◆ Optional new tab dashboard behavior You can choose whether Chrome’s new tab page should open the LED-Lit District dashboard. This behavior is controlled by user settings and is not forced automatically. Privacy: LED-Lit District does not require an account. It does not provide cloud synchronization. It does not send dashboard data or personal information to an external server operated by the extension developer. Settings, cards, groups, themes, and locally saved images are stored in the browser using Chrome storage mechanisms such as chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB. This extension is intended for users who want a customizable, locally stored dashboard for managing their own links.
