About

Citrus - Salesforce Code Compare is a Chrome extension for Salesforce developers to view and compare code across multiple Salesforce organizations. Compare Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Aura components, and Visualforce pages between production, sandbox, developer, or scratch orgs.

KEY FEATURES

Side-by-side code comparison between any two Salesforce orgs with highlighted differences.

- Search for code files by name across your orgs.

- Download individual files or entire file lists.

- Full syntax highlighting for all code types.

- Automatic Salesforce org detection when browsing.

- Authentication status monitoring with quick re-authentication.

- Quick actions menu on file hover with Cmd/Ctrl key.

HOW IT WORKS

Citrus uses the Salesforce Tooling API and your existing Salesforce session cookies. No separate authentication required. Simply log into your Salesforce orgs and Citrus can access code you have permission to view. Click the extension icon, add your Salesforce orgs, then search and compare code files. All data is stored locally in your browser.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

Citrus operates entirely locally within your browser. No data is transmitted to external servers. No analytics or tracking. All code and organization data stays on your device. Session cookies are only used for API authentication and never stored permanently. The extension only accesses orgs you explicitly save and only retrieves code you already have permission to view.

SUPPORTED CODE TYPES

Apex classes and triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components, Apex pages and components (Visualforce). All file types include proper syntax highlighting and formatting.

GETTING STARTED

Install the extension and click the Citrus icon in your Chrome toolbar. If you're viewing a Salesforce org, Citrus will detect it and offer to add it. Click Compare to open the code viewer. Select organizations from the dropdown menus, search for files, and click to view or compare. Select two orgs to see a side-by-side diff view.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be logged into Salesforce orgs in your browser. Works with all Salesforce org types and domain patterns. Requires Chrome version 88 or later.
