PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

• Access to AI chat websites — to detect your text selection and show the Save button on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other supported platforms.

• Native messaging — to communicate with the ChatVault desktop app running locally on your Mac. Your clips travel directly from your browser to your local app. Nothing goes to any remote server through this channel.

• Local connection (localhost) — used exclusively to communicate with the ChatVault desktop app on your machine. This is a local IPC connection, not a network request.

• Storage — to remember your settings (such as your connection token) between browser sessions.
