Star any article to save it. Saved stories persist across sessions and are available offline.

 BREAKING NEWS ALERTS
NewsPro checks for new headlines every 15 minutes in the background and sends a desktop notification when a new top story breaks. Tap the notification to open the article.

 MORNING BRIEFING
A daily 7 AM notification summarises the top story from News, Tech, and Business — your news before you open the browser.

 LIVE WEATHER
Shows your current temperature and weather condition in the header. Uses IP-based approximate location — no GPS, no account required.

 READING STREAK
Tracks how many consecutive days you open NewsPro. Keep your streak going.

NewsPro collects zero personal data. Everything is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. No developer server exists. No analytics. No tracking.

External connections made:
- BBC RSS feeds — to fetch news (no personal data sent)
- ipapi.co / open-meteo.com — to show weather via approximate IP location (your IP is sent to determine city; no account required; result is cached locally for 30 minutes)
- News article URLs — fetched only when you open the reader view, solely to display the article text inside the extension

 PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

- storage — saves your feeds, saved articles, theme, and streak locally
- alarms — powers the 15-min news check and 7 AM morning briefing
- notifications — displays breaking news and morning briefing alerts
- Access to all URLs — NewsPro allows you to add any custom RSS feed from any domain. Because the feed URL is chosen by you at runtime, the extension cannot know the domain in advance. This permission is also used to fetch full article text from news sites when you open the reader view. No browsing data is collected or transmitted.
