Copy a table from a web page and paste it into Google Sheets or Excel — with columns that actually line up.

ClearTable reads the table structure straight from the page, including merged cells, so what you paste is what you saw. No row limits, no account, no data collection.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open a page that contains a table
2. Click the ClearTable icon
3. Pick a table from the list — you get a preview of the first rows so you never grab the wrong one
4. Copy for Sheets / Excel, download a CSV, or copy as Markdown

WHY CLEARTABLE
- Merged-cell safe: rowspan and colspan are expanded before export, so columns never shift
- Unlimited rows, free: no row caps (tested on tables with 5,000+ rows)
- Excel-friendly CSV: RFC 4180 escaping with UTF-8 BOM, so accented characters and non-Latin text open correctly in Excel
- Markdown export: paste tables straight into docs, wikis, GitHub issues, or notes
- Private by design: everything runs locally in your browser. No analytics, no servers, no sign-up. The extension reads a page only when you click its icon (activeTab permission) and cannot see your other tabs or browsing history

EXPORT FORMATS
- Copy for Sheets / Excel — tab-separated text on your clipboard; just paste
- Download CSV — UTF-8 with BOM
- Copy as Markdown — GitHub-style pipe table

NOTES
- Chrome blocks all extensions on browser system pages (chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store itself); ClearTable shows a clear message instead of failing silently
- Works on standard HTML tables. Canvas-drawn grids and image tables are not HTML tables and cannot be read
