Lower Browser Load

Lower Browser Load helps you free memory and CPU when many browser tabs are open. It opens a small floating panel where you see the tabs in your current window and choose what to do next—without the extension reading the content of your pages.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Discard inactive background tabs to unload them from memory (they may reload when you return).
• Restore discarded tabs in one action.
• Focus a tab, close one tab, or use checkboxes for bulk discard, close, or focus (in tab order).

CONSERVATIVE BY DESIGN
The extension skips tabs that would be risky or annoying to unload: the active tab, pinned tabs, tabs playing audio, internal browser pages (chrome://, edge://, etc.), and any hostnames you add to your allowlist in Options.

OPTIONAL AUTO-LIGHTEN
You can enable an optional pass when the browser reports that you have been idle for a while (configurable in Options). It uses the same rules as manual actions.

PRIVACY
Lower Browser Load does not collect, upload, or sell personal data. It does not read page text or transmit your browsing to our servers. Settings (enable/disable, allowlist, idle options, UI language) are stored locally in your browser.
