TabTrace is a browser extension built for developers, coding enthusiasts, and anyone who works with technical content on the web. It reads the visible text content of your active browser tab and securely sends it to the Code Assist desktop application — a productivity tool by Codetoace — where AI helps you understand, analyse, and work through that content instantly, right on your screen.

Whether you are studying programming topics, reading technical documentation, exploring algorithm explanations, or practising on coding challenge platforms, TabTrace bridges your browser and your AI assistant in real time — so you spend less time context-switching and more time actually learning and building.

How it works

Install TabTrace and open the Code Assist desktop app on your computer.
Enable tracking from the extension popup or from the Code Assist Controller — an optional companion interface accessible on any phone or tablet on your local network via simple QR code pairing.
TabTrace reads the visible text of your active browser tab and sends it to Code Assist over a secure local connection. Your data never leaves your local network.
Code Assist processes the content using AI and delivers clear, focused assistance directly on your screen — without interrupting your workflow.

Privacy

TabTrace does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing data to any external server or third party. All content captured by the extension is sent exclusively to the Code Assist application running locally on your own computer and is used solely to provide the AI assistance feature you request. We do not log, monitor, or share your browsing activity in any form.
