About
Spotlight is a lightweight floating overlay that replaces the DevTools network tab with a convenient, always-on panel for monitoring, filtering, inspecting, and replaying network requests in real-time. WHAT IT DOES • Captures all Fetch and XHR requests automatically as they happen • Monitors WebSocket connections and messages • Detects GraphQL requests and displays operation names • Logs console output (log, warn, error) alongside network activity • Shows a performance waterfall timeline for request overlap and sequencing KEY FEATURES • Smart URL display: shows the most meaningful path segments, not raw truncated URLs • Search & filter: filter by HTTP method, status code, or search with regex support (/pattern/flags) • Request details: view headers, request body, and response body with JSON formatting • Replay & edit: resend any request, or edit the method, URL, headers, and body before sending • Compare: diff two API responses side by side to spot changes • Export: download captured sessions as HAR files for sharing or analysis • Cookie & storage inspector — view localStorage, sessionStorage, and cookies • Dark mode: full light and dark theme support • Keyboard shortcut: toggle with Ctrl+Shift+Q (Cmd+Shift+Q on Mac) WHO IT'S FOR • Frontend developers debugging API integrations • QA engineers verifying network behavior • Mobile developers testing responsive web views • Anyone who wants quick network visibility without opening DevTools The panel is draggable, resizable, and stays out of your way. It runs entirely in-browser with zero external connections, no data ever leaves your machine.
