About

Website Screentime Tracker helps you see where your browsing time actually goes—without sending your data anywhere. It records time only when you’re actively using Chrome: the focused window, the active tab, and while you’re not idle (keyboard/mouse activity). Switch tabs, switch apps, or step away, and the timer pauses automatically.

What you get
Accurate active time — Counts focused, active-tab usage; pauses on tab change, when Chrome loses focus, when the system is idle (your threshold), or when the screen locks.
Configurable idle threshold — Choose how long without input counts as “idle” (Chrome requires at least 15 seconds for idle detection).
Domain blacklist — Ignore sensitive or distracting sites (e.g. banking) so they never appear in your stats.
Smart URL grouping — Time is organized by site → path → query string. Internal browser pages (chrome://, extensions UI, etc.) are grouped under Browser UI so your dashboard stays readable.
History & trends — Open the full dashboard to filter by day, week, month, or year, see a bar chart of daily totals, and drill down from domains to paths to queries.
Your data, your device — Everything is stored in chrome.storage.local on your machine. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third-party trackers.
Export — Download your full history as JSON or CSV anytime.
Privacy-first by design
This extension uses the minimum permissions needed: tabs (read the active tab URL in the focused window), storage / unlimitedStorage (save your stats locally), and idle (respect your idle threshold). It does not request broad host permissions, does not read browsing history, and does not load tracking scripts from the web.
