About
PageBrine is a private local web archive for pages you have already accessed in your browser. Use it to preserve articles, documentation, policy pages, pricing pages, research sources, and other web content before it changes or disappears. PageBrine writes archive files to a folder you choose on your own device, so your saved pages remain under your control. Core features: - Save the active webpage with one click. - Store captures in a user-selected local folder. - Capture metadata, extracted text, sanitized HTML, screenshots, thumbnails, and asset references. - Search saved pages by title, URL, domain, text, tags, notes, and date. - Browse a research-style archive library with filters and version history. - Compare versions of the same URL with a local text diff. - Export selected captures or the full archive as a portable ZIP with capture files. - Import PageBrine ZIP exports back into a local archive folder. - Rebuild the local search index from archive files. - Add tags, notes, favorites, and saved searches; browse collection metadata when present. - Use optional local-only settings for full-page screenshot beta, already-loaded image asset saving, browser-local OCR when available, and AES-GCM encrypted capture files. Privacy-first workflow: - No account required. - No external API calls. - No analytics or advertising. - No remote storage. - No automatic upload or sharing. - Page content, URLs, screenshots, metadata, and indexes stay local. Important limitation: PageBrine saves pages that you can already access in your browser. It does not bypass paywalls, logins, DRM, site restrictions, or browser security limits. Some dynamic, cross-origin, video, canvas, or browser-internal pages may be partial captures.
