About
One click. Full WordPress intelligence. WP Site Inspector gives you instant answers about any website: Is it WordPress? How fast is it? Is caching working? No setup, no accounts, no data collection. ------------------------------------------ WHAT IT DOES ------------------------------------------ WORDPRESS DETECTION Automatically detects WordPress sites with a confidence score (0-100%). Identifies the WordPress version, active theme, and up to 10 visible plugins — all from a single page load. Detection uses multiple signals: meta generator tags, wp-content/wp-includes paths, REST API links, WordPress CSS classes, body classes, and admin bar presence. REAL PERFORMANCE METRICS Measures actual load performance using the browser's Navigation Timing API — not synthetic estimates. See Time to First Byte (TTFB) with color-coded ratings (good under 200ms, needs work 200-600ms, slow above 600ms), total page load time, DOM ready time, and HTTP protocol version (HTTP/2, HTTP/3). CACHE ANALYSIS Instantly tells you if a page is being served from cache. Shows transfer size vs. decoded size so you can see exactly how much data the browser actually downloaded versus what was served from disk or memory cache. REPEATED VIEW TEST Hit "Test Again" to reload the page and compare performance between first and second visits. See the exact TTFB and load time difference in milliseconds and percentage — perfect for verifying that caching is actually working. ------------------------------------------ WHY USE IT ------------------------------------------ If you build, manage, or optimize WordPress sites, this extension saves you from opening DevTools, navigating to the Network tab, and manually interpreting timing data. Everything you need is one click away in a clean, readable panel. Perfect for: - WordPress developers checking client sites - Freelancers auditing potential projects - Site owners verifying their optimization setup - Agencies doing competitive research - Anyone curious about what powers a website ------------------------------------------ PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS ------------------------------------------ WP Site Inspector uses only two permissions: - activeTab: to read the current page you're viewing - scripting: to inject the analysis script That's it. No background processes. No data leaves your browser. No external API calls. No analytics or tracking. No account required. Everything runs locally in your browser. ------------------------------------------ TECHNICAL DETAILS ------------------------------------------ - Built on Manifest V3 (Chrome's latest extension platform) - Uses Navigation Timing API for real performance data - Lightweight: no background service worker, no content scripts - Analysis runs only when you click the extension icon - Works on any publicly accessible website ------------------------------------------ Built by WP Multitool — a WordPress optimization plugin with 13 modules for performance, security, and site management.
