About
LUECI ViewAssist
LUECI ViewAssist is a productivity companion for radiologists, technologists,
and PACS administrators working in Enterprise PACS / DICOM viewer
environments. It speeds up routine reading by managing hanging protocols,
preserving multi-monitor layouts, and aligning the right protocol with each
study as it opens.
WHAT IT DOES
• Multi-Monitor Awareness
Detects how many displays the PACS viewer is opened on and adapts
protocol suggestions to single-monitor, dual-monitor, and three-or-more
monitor configurations. No more re-arranging windows after every study.
• Hanging Protocol Library
Ships with a curated, editable library of hanging protocols covering
common modalities and body parts (CR, CT, MR, US, XA, MG, NM, PT and
more). Protocols are stored locally in your browser — nothing is sent to
an external server.
• Layout Capture
One-click capture of the current viewer layout (series placement, monitor
assignment, image counts, prior comparison setup) so it can be re-applied
to the next matching study.
• Study-Aware Protocol Matching
Reads study metadata exposed by the viewer — modality, study description,
DICOM Body Part Examined (0018,0015), image count, and presence of
priors — and ranks the closest protocols from your library. Vendor-
specific body part codes from common modalities (FUJIFILM, Carestream,
GE, etc.) are normalized so matches stay consistent across equipment.
• Prior Study Handling
Recognizes when prior studies are loaded alongside the current exam and
prefers comparison-friendly layouts when priors are present.
• Worksheet & Report Templates
Optional worksheet capture and report-template library to keep dictation
structure consistent between similar studies.
• Daily Usage Stats
Lightweight in-popup counter that shows how many protocols and reports
you have applied today. Resets daily, stored locally.
WHO IT IS FOR
• Diagnostic radiologists who read across multiple modalities and want
consistent, reproducible viewer layouts.
• Technologists and lead techs maintaining standardized hanging protocols
across a department.
• PACS administrators rolling out a uniform reading-room configuration.
• Reading-room super-users who want their preferred layout to follow them
between workstations.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Install the extension and open your Enterprise PACS viewer in the
browser.
2. ViewAssist reads non-PHI study attributes (modality, study description,
body part, image counts, monitor count) from the active viewer tab.
3. The extension scores its local protocol library against those
attributes and surfaces the best match plus alternatives.
4. Apply the protocol with one click, or capture the current layout to
save your own.
PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING
• All processing is performed locally in your browser. No study data,
patient data, or images are uploaded to any external service by this
extension.
• Protocols, report templates, captured layouts, and usage counters are
stored in your browser's local IndexedDB and chrome.storage. They never
leave the device unless you explicitly export them.
• The extension does not contain analytics, tracking pixels, advertising
SDKs, or third-party telemetry.
• No account, login, or registration is required.
COMPATIBILITY
• Designed for browser-based Enterprise PACS / DICOM viewers running over
HTTP or HTTPS in Chromium-based browsers.
• Works on single-monitor laptops, dual-monitor reading stations, and
three-or-more monitor diagnostic workstations.
• Manifest V3, service-worker based — no legacy background pages.
