# Umino — User Guide

Umino is a keyboard-first new tab extension that lets you **search and open your browser bookmarks instantly**.
It is designed to be fast, minimal, and distraction-free.

## ✨ Core Concept

- Open a new tab

All interactions happen locally in your browser, with no network requests.

## ⌨️ Basic Usage

### Open Umino
- Open a new tab in Chrome
- The input box is focused automatically

### Search Bookmarks
- Type any keyword
- Results are matched against your bookmark titles and URLs
- Fuzzy matching is supported (partial and out-of-order characters)

### Navigate Results
- `↑ / ↓` — Move selection
- `Enter` — Open selected bookmark
- `Esc` — Clear input and reset state

## 🔍 Search Behavior

- Searches are performed **only on browser bookmarks**
- Matching is done locally and instantly
- No search requests are sent outside your device

If no matching bookmark is found, Umino shows an empty state without taking any action.

## 🧠 Smart Matching

Umino supports:
- Partial keyword matching
- Abbreviation-style input
- Case-insensitive search

This allows you to reach bookmarks with very few keystrokes.

- Bookmark data is read directly from Chrome’s bookmark store
