    description
    X-Filter Overview:

X-Filter lets you control what appears in your X.com (formerly Twitter) feed by removing specific post types and distracting content. It also includes a customizable left navigation panel with drag-and-drop reordering, your X.com lists, and notification badge counts. All filtering runs locally in the browser; no data is sent to any server.

    Features:

    - Hide reposts: Removes posts that others have reposted.

    - Hide quote posts: Removes posts that quote another post.

    - Hide replies: Removes direct replies from your home, search, list, and profile timelines.

    - Hide media: Replaces images, videos, and article cards with clickable [image], [video], and [article] placeholders.

    - Hide profile information: Replaces avatars, display names, and handles with [hidden] placeholders. Hovering reveals the original content.

    - Global toggle: A single on/off switch that enables or disables all filters at once.

    - Filter counters: Shows a running count of how many posts have been filtered per type (reposts, quotes, replies) and how many posts you've scrolled past in the current session.

    - Seen-post tracking: Tracks which posts you've stopped on for a few seconds. When you come back to a post you've already seen, it is dimmed and marked with a [seen - Xm] badge. Tracking data older than 24 hours is automatically removed.

    - Click to reveal: Click any filtered, hidden, or dimmed post to show its full content. Media and profile placeholders can also be clicked to reveal what was hidden.

    - Customizable left navigation: Replaces X.com's native navigation with a customizable panel that includes all major sections (Home, Explore, Notifications, Profile, etc.) plus your X.com lists. Items can be reordered via drag-and-drop and shown or hidden via checkboxes.

    - X.com lists integration: Your X.com lists appear in the left navigation with their own visibility toggles and drag-and-drop reordering. Changes made on X.com (create, subscribe, unsubscribe) sync in real time.

    - Settings panel: A control panel added to X.com's sidebar that lets you adjust all filter settings without leaving the page. The panel reappears automatically if X.com's navigation removes it.

    - Left navigation toggle: An X-Filter link next to the X logo that opens and closes all UI overlays.

    - Works on all X.com timelines: Home feed, search results, lists, and user profiles.

    Permissions:

    - storage: Saves filter preferences, seen-post timestamps, and navigation configuration.
