About

**Stop leaking sensitive data when you share your screen.**

Every day people screen-share dashboards, inboxes, and support tools on calls,
demos, and recordings — and accidentally expose customer emails, card numbers,
SSNs, and API keys to everyone watching. Veil fixes that with one switch.

Turn Veil on before you share, and it automatically blurs sensitive information
on whatever page you're on. Need to check a value yourself? Just click it to
reveal — only you see it, and only when you choose.

**What Veil hides automatically**
• Email addresses
• Credit / debit card numbers (validated, so random digits aren't flagged)
• Social Security numbers (SSNs)
• Phone numbers
• Bank / IBAN numbers
• API keys & secrets (Stripe, AWS, GitHub, Slack, Google)
• IP addresses (optional)

**Why people use it**
• Customer support & success — co-browse and screen-share without exposing customer PII
• Sales engineers — demo on real accounts without leaking data
• Creators & educators — record tutorials of dashboards without pausing to censor
• Consultants & agencies — record client walkthroughs safely
• Anyone posting a screenshot for a bug report or question

**Built for the moment you go live**
• One toggle to turn protection on/off
• Choose exactly which categories to blur
• Works on dynamic pages — new content is blurred as it loads
• Click any blurred item to reveal it

**Private by design**
Veil runs 100% in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit any
page content or personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, and no
analytics. Your settings are saved locally on your device.

**Good to know**
Veil applies a visual blur to sensitive values for screen sharing, recording,
and screenshots. It detects structured data (emails, cards, SSNs, numbers,
keys); it does not detect free-form names or street addresses. Turn it on
before you share to be sure everything is covered.
