About
PDF Select & Extract Offline is a fast, privacy‑focused tool that allows you to extract text, tables, and images from any PDF directly inside your browser. All processing happens entirely offline, ensuring that your documents never leave your device. The extension is designed for precision. When you select an area of a PDF, it extracts only the text that actually falls inside the selection, including partial words or mid‑line fragments. This makes it suitable for both structured and unstructured documents. PDF Select & Extract Offline includes an advanced table‑recognition engine. It detects column positions based on text alignment, reconstructs rows accurately, and exports the resulting table in multiple formats. You can export tables as pipe‑separated CSV, as a “pretty” aligned ASCII table suitable for monospaced fonts, or as structured JSON where each row becomes an object with column names as keys. The extension also supports image extraction. Any selected region of the PDF can be exported as a PNG image, making it easy to capture signatures, stamps, diagrams, or scanned portions that cannot be extracted as text. All features work entirely offline. No uploads, no servers, no external APIs, and no internet connection are required. Your files remain fully private on your device. Key features: Extract text from any selected area of a PDF Reconstruct tables with accurate column detection Export tables as pipe‑separated CSV, aligned ASCII (“pretty”) format, or JSON Extract any selected region as a PNG image Works fully offline for maximum privacy and speed Ideal for scanned PDFs, reports, invoices, statements, and administrative documents This extension does not use OCR and therefore cannot extract text from images or scanned pages that contain no embedded text.
