HOW IT WORKS

PhishGuard uses a multi-layer detection system:

→ Domain Whitelist — instantly clears millions of known-safe domains (Google, GitHub, Wikipedia and more) with zero API calls
→ Rule-Based Heuristics — flags suspicious TLDs, excessive subdomains, phishing keywords, unencrypted HTTP connections, and IP-based URLs
→ AI / ML Detection — a BERT-based machine learning model trained specifically on phishing URLs analyses anything that passes the first two layers
→ Enhanced Mode (optional) — adds IPQualityScore reputation analysis for confirmed threat scoring on top of the ML result
