  # Video Resumer 🎬
  
  A cross-browser **Manifest V3** extension for **Chrome** and **Firefox** that resumes videos from where you left off, with screenshot thumbnails.
  
  ## Features
  
  - ▶️ **Auto-resume** — Saves your position on every video. When you return to the page, a thumbnail overlay appears with a **Resume** button.
  - 📸 **Screenshot thumbnails** — Silently captures the video frame (via canvas) when you pause or leave. The thumbnail is shown inside the player as an overlay background.
  - 🌐 **Works everywhere** — All websites with HTML5 video, except adult/porn sites (blocked by a built-in list of 90+ domains).
  - 🌙 **Dark / Light / Follow System** — Full theme support, Follow System is the default.
  - 🌍 **3 languages** — English, Arabic (RTL), French.
  - 🗄️ **Auto-cleanup** — Saved positions expire after 30 days (configurable).
  
  ## Installation
  
  ### Chrome
  1. Open `chrome://extensions`
  2. Enable **Developer mode** (top right)
  3. Click **Load unpacked** → select the `Chrome/` folder
  
  ### Firefox
  1. Open `about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox`
  2. Click **Load Temporary Add-on** → select `Firefox/manifest.json`
  
  > For permanent Firefox installation, package the `Firefox/` folder as a `.zip`, rename to `.xpi`, and submit to [addons.mozilla.org](https://addons.mozilla.org).

  How It Works:  
  1. Install the Video Resumer extension from the browser’s extension store; it activates automatically across your tabs and websites.  
  2. When you start playing any online video, a background script monitors playback progress and captures an optional pause-screen snapshot for that video.  
  3. Upon leaving, refreshing, or returning to a video—whether on the same or a different device with browser sync enabled—Video Resumer automatically restores your playback to the saved timestamp, displaying preview images and duration info.  
  4. Access your video history and controls via the browser toolbar popup, which shows a sortable list of recent videos alongside thumbnail previews, watched time, and quick resume or reset buttons.  
  5. Customize your preferences in the Options menu, adjusting which sites to track, screenshot privacy settings, storage limits, and additional advanced configurations.  
  6. Manage your data with ease, deleting old or unwanted entries directly from the popup or options page, blocking specific domains, or disabling screenshot capture as desired.
