About

Linear Bug Catcher — file bug reports to Linear without leaving the page.

Linear Bug Catcher turns bug reporting from a slow, context-switching chore into a two-click action. When you hit a bug during QA or development, press a shortcut: the extension captures the current tab, attaches the relevant network requests, and creates a Linear issue with everything a developer needs to reproduce it — all without opening a new tab or leaving your work.

Why install it

Filing a good bug report normally means taking a screenshot, opening dev tools, copying request payloads, switching to Linear, pasting everything, and writing it up. Linear Bug Catcher does all of that in one place, so QA engineers, PMs, and developers can report reproducible bugs in seconds — and developers get the exact network data they need instead of "it didn't work."

Key features

• One-shot screenshot — captures the visible tab the moment you open the reporter.
• Annotate before you send — draw rectangles and arrows, add text, and use a mosaic tool to permanently blur sensitive information directly into the image.
• Automatic network capture — the extension records recent API requests (with request and response bodies) so the failing call is already attached; no need to reproduce with dev tools open.
• Smart filtering — an allowlist of URL patterns keeps only your app's own API calls, so analytics and monitoring traffic never clutter the report.
• Straight to Linear — choose a team and project, write the problem and requirements, and the issue is created with the screenshot and selected logs embedded in its description.

How it works

Connect your Linear account once with a personal API key.
Press Alt+Shift+B (or click the toolbar icon) on any page.
Annotate the screenshot, check the requests to attach, and write a short description.
Click "Create ticket" — the Linear issue is created instantly and a link appears.
Privacy

Your Linear API key is stored only in your browser's local storage and is never sent anywhere except Linear's official API. Screenshots and network logs are only sent to Linear when you click "Create ticket." The extension does not collect analytics or transmit any data to third parties.
