About

Discussions Button for Google Search adds a simple Discussions filter chip to Google Search results.

When you search on Google, the extension places a Discussions button beside the regular search filters. Click it to quickly narrow results toward forum-style discussions, community answers, and user-generated conversations.

This is useful when you want practical answers, real user experiences, troubleshooting threads, product opinions, developer discussions, or community-based results instead of only standard web pages.

Key Features:

• Adds a Discussions button to Google Search results
• Quickly filters search results toward forum-style pages
• Forum mode supports sites such as Reddit, Stack Overflow, Stack Exchange, Quora, Hacker News, dev.to, XDA Developers, and Google Groups
• Optional Discussions mode using Google’s discussion search parameter
• Button appears inside the Google Search filter row
• Click again to remove the filter
• Works only on Google Search pages
• Lightweight content script
• No account required
• No ads
• No search engine changes
• No tracking scripts

How to Use:

1. Install the extension.
2. Open Google Search.
3. Search for any topic.
4. Click the Discussions button in the search filter row.
5. Google will reload the results with the discussion/forum filter applied.
6. Click the button again to remove the filter.

Filter Modes:

Forums Mode:
Adds forum-focused site filters to your Google search query. This helps surface results from discussion communities and Q&A websites.

Discussions Mode:
Uses Google’s discussion search parameter. Availability and result coverage may vary depending on Google Search behavior.

Privacy Friendly:

Discussions Button for Google Search runs locally in your browser. Based on the current extension files, it does not collect personal information, does not track browsing activity, does not use analytics, and does not send data to an external server.

The extension only reads and updates the Google Search URL query when you click the Discussions button.
