### **Installation: You Need Both!**

Dia-Lingo is a **Sidecar utility** and is designed to work *with* the base voice recognition system.

2.  **Install Dia-Lingo:** Download and install this extension in Chrome. 

### **How to Use (The Simple Protocol)**

1.  Open a new chat in **ChatGPT**.
2.  Click the **"Use Voice Mode"** in a new chat once BOTH the plugins are turned on.
3.  **Speaker A:** Say a short greeting (e.g., "Hello, my name is Alice.") in your language.
4.  **Speaker B:** Say a short greeting (e.g., "Hola, me llamo Bob.") in your language.
5.  **Start Talking:** Dia-Lingo is now active! Take turns speaking. **Wait for the translation to finish** before the other person starts.

### **⚠️ Critical Warnings (Read Before Use)**

This is an AI tool and has firm limitations.

* **Accuracy:** **NOT suitable** for legal, medical, or safety-critical conversations. Use with caution.
* **Privacy:** All audio is transcribed and sent to the **OpenAI servers**. **Do not discuss highly sensitive information.**
* **Nuance:** Cannot convey tone, sarcasm, or deep cultural context.
* **Fragility:** **Interrupting or overlapping speech may break the session.** You will need to click "End Voice Mode" and restart the setup.

CRITICAL CHECK: Immediately look for the text "TRANSLATION PROTOCOL v1.0" to appear in the chat window. If you DO NOT see this text, the sidecar is NOT ACTIVE.

Troubleshooting: If the text does not appear, check that both plugins are activated and reload the ChatGPT page and start a new chat until you see it.

Remember to turn off the plugins when you wish to restore ordinary ChatGPT functionality.
