The extension reads the WhatsApp Web chats you choose so it can create your ZIP export. The export is generated locally. Chat messages, media files and contact names are not sent to our servers.

Availability of older messages and media depends on what WhatsApp Web exposes to the browser. Expired media links may not be downloadable.
