WHAT IT DOES ✅

FloatPlay gives you two ways to float a video:
Float mode creates a draggable, resizable overlay on the current tab. Drag it by the header, resize from the corner, and use the built-in volume and speed sliders without touching the original player. 

PiP mode (Picture-in-Picture) opens a floating window that stays above all other windows and applications - including desktop apps, PDF viewers, and every browser tab. Switch tabs freely and the video keeps playing in the corner of your screen. 📺

YOUTUBE INTEGRATION ▶️

FloatPlay adds Float and PiP buttons directly into YouTube's player controls bar so you never need to open the popup. Just click Float or PiP right next to the CC and settings buttons while watching any video. 🔘

Additional YouTube features:
Speed control (0.25x to 4x) changes actual YouTube playback speed ⏩
Volume slider and mute toggle 🔉
Seek bar to jump to any position in the video ⏪
Automatic ad detection with stream refresh so PiP keeps playing through ads 🚫📢
Works on all YouTube videos regardless of embedding restrictions 🔓

The PiP window is a fully custom floating player with:
Seek bar with current time and total duration ⏱️
Volume slider with mute toggle 🔊

Stays visible above all windows including desktop apps 💻


WORKS FROM ANY TAB 📑
Open FloatPlay from a PDF, a new tab, or any page with no video on it. The popup automatically scans all your open browser tabs, finds videos, and lets you float them without switching tabs. 🔍

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT ⌨️
Press Alt+Shift+F from any tab - including PDFs and new tabs - to instantly activate Picture-in-Picture on the first video found across all open tabs. No popup required. 🚀

TRANSPARENCY MODE 🔘✨
Click the half-circle button on the Float overlay to make the video semi-transparent. Read a document or article through the video without moving it out of the way. 📄

PRIVACY 

FloatPlay collects zero personal data. No sign-in required. No analytics or tracking. No data is ever sent to any server. All activity logs are stored locally in your browser and can be cleared at any time from the Activity Log tab.
