ANY2SHEET — companion extension

This extension is a companion to Any2Sheet at https://any2sheet.com and https://www.any2sheet.com. It does not replace the site. It adds one shortcut: send the page in your current normal browser tab into an already open Any2Sheet tab on the home path (/), so you can continue in the same web app you would use manually.

Single purpose

On your explicit action (“Add this page to Any2Sheet”), the extension builds an HTML-oriented snapshot of the active http/https tab and hands it off to your open Any2Sheet home tab. It is not a general-purpose browser tool, ad blocker, VPN, download manager, or background tracker.

How to use

Open Any2Sheet in a regular tab on / (https://any2sheet.com/ or https://www.any2sheet.com/).
In another tab, open the page you want to send.
Open the extension popup and choose Add this page to Any2Sheet.
Capture runs only on that click. The extension uses activeTab and scripting on the tab you send from, finds your Any2Sheet home tab, delivers the payload by extension messaging, and the in-page bridge forwards it with same-origin postMessage inside Any2Sheet. If delivery succeeds, it may focus the Any2Sheet tab.

Limitations

Restricted Chrome pages (for example chrome://, the Chrome Web Store, built-in PDF viewer, and other non-scriptable pages) cannot be captured. You must keep an eligible Any2Sheet tab on /. Very large snapshots may be truncated.

Permissions (Chrome Web Store build)

activeTab — temporary access to the tab you are sending from when you use the extension UI.
tabs — find and focus an open Any2Sheet tab on the allowed Any2Sheet origins.
scripting — inject packaged extension scripts for capture and, when needed, to install the small Any2Sheet bridge. No remote code execution for updates or this flow.
Host access (Chrome Web Store build)

The uploaded package limits host access to:

https://any2sheet.com/*
https://www.any2sheet.com/*
That scope exists only so the first-party Any2Sheet bridge can load and the extension can complete the user-initiated handoff on the live site. It does not request access to arbitrary sites on the public web.

Privacy and responsibility

The extension processes page-derived HTML on your device and transfers it to your Any2Sheet tab. Further handling is governed by the Any2Sheet site and your account choices. Use the extension only on content you may capture and process, and follow applicable law and site terms.

Support

If Any2Sheet is unreachable from the extension, reload the Any2Sheet tab and confirm you are on /. If a specific site fails, Chrome or the page’s security model may block scripting; try a simple page to confirm the flow.
