About
Bug Report Screenshot turns one click into a paste-ready bug report.
Click the toolbar icon and the extension instantly captures:
• A screenshot of the visible tab
• Uncaught JavaScript errors and unhandled promise rejections
• Failed network requests (fetch + XHR + resource loads)
• Browser, OS, viewport, URL, and timestamp
You then land on an annotation tab where you can draw arrows, add text, and blur sensitive regions. Pick your platform — GitHub, Linear, or Jira — and hit Copy & Download. The formatted markdown lands on your clipboard. A zip with report.md and screenshot.png lands in Downloads.
Paste straight into a ticket. Done.
WHY THIS EXISTS
Most bug-report tools ship telemetry to a SaaS backend, require an account, or lock features behind a subscription. This one runs entirely on your machine. No backend. No account. No analytics. No data ever leaves your browser.
WHAT GETS CAPTURED
• Visible-tab screenshot (chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab)
• Last 50 console errors and unhandled rejections from the active page
• Last 50 failed network requests (status >= 400, network errors, resource load failures)
• Page URL, user agent, viewport size, timestamp
WHAT DOES NOT GET CAPTURED
• No keystrokes, mouse trails, or video
• No cookies or localStorage
• No background-tab data
• Nothing leaves the device
PLATFORMS
GitHub markdown with foldable <details> blocks for stacks. Linear-flavored markdown. Jira wiki markup with {noformat} blocks.
