Examena Recording Viewer — Scrape Examena clip URLs and review desk-screen + webcam recordings on one shared timeline

Examena’s recording popup only shows one clip at a time and provides no easy way to review paired desk-screen and laptop-webcam footage together. This extension captures MP4 clip URLs from Examena’s “Exam recordings” dialog, then opens a custom dual-player with synced playback and bulk download support.

    What it does
Detect current popup clips. One click captures the currently open Examena “Exam recordings” popup, extracting desk-screen and laptop-webcam MP4 URLs, clip labels, and timestamps.
Bulk detect candidates. Scan the attendance table, open suspicious-activity popups automatically, validate the candidate, and capture recordings for many students in one pass.
Shared-clock dual player. Open a player with both desk and webcam videos driven by one authoritative timeline so both streams stay in sync across clip boundaries.
Native video controls with fixed behavior. Play/pause, seek, and playback speed work normally on either video without breaking the shared timeline engine.
Download options. Export captured recordings as separate MP4 files or bundle them into a ZIP for easy review and archiving.

    Why install
Save time reviewing Examena recordings by pairing desk and webcam feeds on a single timeline.
Avoid manual clip-by-clip playback in Examena’s native popup.
Capture multiple candidates in bulk instead of repeating the same popup navigation steps.
Keep review workflows local and browser-only, with no external servers or accounts needed.

    Who it's for
Proctors, instructors, exam administrators, and edtech staff who review Examena recordings and need faster, more reliable access to paired desk-screen and webcam footage.

    Privacy
Runs entirely locally in your browser. It uses Chrome extension storage and local downloads only — no external servers, no analytics, no accounts.
