About

Remember why you saved it — while you still remember.

Pinterest is brilliant at collecting ideas. It is less brilliant at telling you, three months later, why a pin mattered. Boards fill up. The image still looks great. The reason you saved it — the constraint, the mood, the “this is the one” moment — is gone.

Matome (まとめ — “to gather / summarize”) adds one step at save time: a single line about why you are saving this pin. Later, you read those notes in a calm review view grouped by week — more like a journal than a spreadsheet.

How it works
Save on Pinterest as usual
When you click Save on pinterest.com, Matome opens a small dialog alongside Pinterest’s own flow. You are not blocked from saving; the note is parallel to what Pinterest already does.

One line is enough
“Why did you save this?” — type a short rationale (kitchen layout, tile direction, budget cap, “feels like us”). Press Enter. Done in seconds.

Review when you are ready
Open Review from the extension toolbar. Your captures appear in an editorial layout: pin image, board name, your note, and when you saved it — organized by ISO week. Filter by board, delete entries you no longer need, or export everything as JSON for your own archive.

Why install Matome?
Stop the “what was this for?” scroll — Future-you gets context, not just thumbnails.
Build projects with intent — Renovations, weddings, wardrobes, mood boards: decisions stick to the pin they belong to.
Lightweight habit — One field, one line, no second app to maintain.
Your data stays on your device — Captures are stored in Chrome’s local extension storage on your machine. Matome does not run a cloud account or sell your saves.
Honest scope — Built for people who use Pinterest as a thinking tool, not only as entertainment.
What you get today
Capture modal on Pinterest Save (runs in parallel with Pinterest’s save UI)
Local storage of pin URL, image, board name, timestamps, and your rationale
Review tab with week grouping and board filter
Delete individual captures
Export JSON of all captures (for backup or import into your own system)
Optional fallback: if the automatic save hook has not fired for several days, Matome can show a small on-page button so you can still capture manually
Optional weekly reminder to export your recent captures
Matome is an independent tool. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Pinterest.

Privacy and permissions
Data: Captures live in chrome.storage.local in your browser profile. Uninstalling the extension removes that data unless you have exported a copy.

Where Matome runs: The content script and save hook operate on https://*.pinterest.com/* only.
