Timer for Kimai puts your Kimai time tracker in the browser toolbar. Start, stop, and resume time entries on your own self-hosted Kimai server in one click, without leaving the page you are on.

Built for people who self-host Kimai and want a clean, English, privacy-respecting control, instead of broad-permission add-ons that ask to read your browsing history.

What it does
- One-click Start and Stop from the toolbar.
- Resume your last entry in a single click.
- Project and activity pickers populated live from your server, with your last selection remembered.
- Optional description per entry.
- A live elapsed clock while a timer is running.
- Works with any Kimai 2.x server over its REST API.

Least-privilege by design
- Requests only the "storage" permission, plus access to the one Kimai server you enter, granted at runtime.
- No access to your browsing history, your tabs, or any other website.
- Your server URL and API token are stored locally in your browser and are sent only to your own Kimai server. No analytics, no telemetry, no third parties.
- Small, dependency-free, and readable, so you can audit every line.

Setup
1. In Kimai, open your avatar menu and create an API token under API access.
2. Open the extension's Settings, enter your Kimai URL and token, and approve access to that one server.
