The bird perched on this branch is a female Green Honeycreeper (Chlorophanes spiza), a dazzling jewel of the Neotropical rainforest canopy. Her plumage is an almost uniform, highly saturated emerald green, which serves as exceptional camouflage amidst the lush foliage. This vivid coloration covers her entire body, contrasting only slightly with the paler, yellowish-green of the underparts.
