FULL DESCRIPTION
Animana Consult AI is a Chrome side panel extension built for veterinary professionals using IDEXX Animana. It opens alongside your Animana tab — just like DevTools — so you can generate structured clinical records without switching windows or copying and pasting.
Designed with input from practising clinicians, it eliminates the most time-consuming parts of documentation: reading back through patient history, structuring physical examination findings, and formatting consult notes to a professional clinical standard.

📋 PATIENT HISTORY SUMMARY
Before a consultation, click Summarise History. The extension reads the full patient history from the open Animana tab and generates a structured clinical briefing in seconds:

Active problems and current concerns
Current medications with doses
Surgical and procedure history
Vaccination and preventive care status
Lab results and diagnostic findings
Clinical trends including weight changes and recurring issues

Sections are colour-coded by urgency and all expanded by default so you can scroll through the full picture at a glance. Tap any section to collapse it. The patient's age, sex, and weight appear as quick-reference pills at the top.

🩺 CONSULT NOTE WRITER
Four structured input sections match the way clinicians think: History, Findings, Diagnosis, and Plan & Therapy.
The Findings section includes 15 quick-fill rows covering every body system: Status, Temp, Pulse, Resp, MM, CRT, Eyes/Ears/Nose, Mouth & Teeth, Lymph Nodes, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Musculoskeletal, Abdomen & GIT, Skin & Coat, and Urogenital. Leave any row blank and the AI writes that the system is normal with no abnormalities found. Fill in a finding and the AI incorporates it clinically with correct terminology.
Click Write & Fill Consult Note — the AI reads your inputs and the patient's history, generates a professional structured note, and fills all four fields in Animana's consult form automatically.

💉 VACCINATION RECORD WRITER
Identical structure to the Consult Note Writer, tailored for vaccination visits. The AI reads which vaccines were billed from the patient's Animana charges and incorporates them into the record automatically — no manual selection required. The physical examination section uses the same 15-system quick-fill grid so routine wellness checks can be documented in under a minute.

⚡ SIDE PANEL — WORKS ALONGSIDE ANIMANA
Unlike popup extensions that obscure your screen, Animana Consult AI opens as a persistent side panel docked to the right of your browser tab. Animana stays fully visible while you work, with no switching between windows.

💾 AUTO-SAVE PER PATIENT
All inputs — every quick-fill row, history note, diagnosis, and plan — save automatically as you type and restore the next time you open that patient. Generated notes are also saved, so if you need to adjust and re-fill, everything is ready without regenerating.

🔒 PRIVACY FIRST
Your Anthropic API key is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to the extension developer. Patient data is sent only to Anthropic's API — which you control via your own API key — solely to generate note text. No data is collected, stored, or shared by the extension developer.

HOW TO USE
- Install the extension and add your Anthropic API key in Settings (⚙)
- Open a patient file in Animana
- Click the extension icon — the side panel opens alongside Animana
- Click Summarise History for a full patient briefing before the consult
- Fill in your findings and notes in the structured input sections
- Click Write & Fill — the note is generated and filled into Animana automatically

REQUIREMENTS
-An Anthropic API key (available at console.anthropic.com — pay-per-use, typically a few cents per consultation)
-Access to IDEXX Animana at your clinic's URL
-Google Chrome version 114 or later (required for side panel support)
