 Usage Meter for Claude.ai shows your Claude.ai session (5-hour) and weekly (7-day) usage limits right from the Chrome toolbar — a badge percentage at a glance, full detail with countdowns and a 7-day history graph in the popup, and desktop notifications when you cross thresholds you set.

 How it works: the extension reads the session cookie you already have from being logged into claude.ai in Chrome, and uses it to call Claude.ai's own usage API on your behalf — the same data your account already has access to. Nothing is sent anywhere except directly to claude.ai; the developer never sees your cookie or your usage data.

 Important: this reads Claude.ai's internal, undocumented usage API, not an official Anthropic-provided integration. Anthropic can change or restrict this API at any time without notice, which could stop the extension from working. Using it may also be subject to Claude.ai's own Terms of Service — please review Anthropic's terms if you have concerns.

 Features:
 - Toolbar badge — shows session % or weekly % (your choice, default session), colored green/amber/red by your configured thresholds. Hover for a tooltip showing both values.
 - Popup detail — progress bars, countdown + exact reset time for both limits, and a toggleable 7-day history graph.
 - Desktop notifications — one alert per threshold crossing, not repeated every refresh.
 - Settings — warning/danger thresholds, refresh interval, badge metric (session/weekly), notifications on/off, theme, 12h/24h time format.
 - Failure indicator — if a refresh fails, the badge turns grey with a tooltip explaining why, instead of silently showing stale data.

 Permissions used, and why:
 - cookies — reads your existing claude.ai session cookie so the extension can authenticate to Claude's usage API on your behalf. Never transmitted anywhere except directly to claude.ai.
 - storage — saves your settings and the last-fetched usage data locally in your browser.
 - alarms — schedules the periodic background refresh (interval you configure).
 - notifications — shows desktop notifications on threshold crossings, only if you enable them.
 - host_permissions (https://claude.ai/*) — the only host this extension ever talks to.

 Usage Meter for Claude.ai does not collect, transmit, or sell any data to the developer or any third party. Everything happens directly between your browser and claude.ai.
