About
shut.up lets you build a personal blocklist of anyone you no longer want to encounter while browsing. Add a name. That person disappears — their name in text becomes a solid black bar, their profile picture becomes a black square, their posts get covered. No trace, no noise. Works on X / Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Hacker News, Google News, and most news sites and blogs. Add any name to your blocklist — a public figure, a media personality, anyone you are simply done reading about. shut.up scans the page in real time and covers every trace of them. Text — any mention of the blocked name is replaced with a solid black redaction bar, inline wherever it appears. Profile pictures — avatars and photos are replaced with a solid black square, including circular profile pictures on social platforms. Posts and articles — full post cards, news articles, and feed items mentioning the blocked name are covered with a dark overlay. A small "reveal" option is available if you choose to see it. The blocklist is yours and syncs instantly across tabs. Add or remove anyone at any time. Nothing is sent anywhere — all processing happens locally in your browser. No accounts, no servers, no tracking
