🧠 How It Works
	•	The School IT Department connects the extension to district owned shared Google Sheet(s) and configures the extension and the various google sheets so that others will enter screensaver information into them.
	•	Authorized staff (e.g., principals, secretaries, or teachers) can add or update announcements in the appropriate sheet(s).
	•	The message(s) automatically appears on student or staff devices running Chrome, in a clean full-screen format similar to how a screensaver works.

School Broadcaster supports text or image-based messages including animated gifs. Canva is a great tool to assist you.  You can display plain text, like “Wear Blue on Friday,” or link to an image (hosted online) such as a flyer, schedule, or custom graphic. The free version allows one single message entry using cell A1, and nowhere else, of your Google Sheet.  Cell G1 can also be modified for idle time before the screensaver is activated (in seconds)  with a number 15 or larger.  The message in cell A1 can be plain text or a direct link to an image (e.g., a PNG or JPG hosted on a public site like Google Drive). For schools that want more advanced features—like multiple rotating messages, an affordable premium version is available.
