About

# RecallChess — Repertoire-divergence overlay for chess.com & lichess

Stop forgetting the openings you already studied.

You drilled the line on Chessable. You played the wrong move anyway.
After the game ends Game Review catches your tactical errors — but
your opening memorization is never tested. So a week later, you reach
the same position, sense the move is wrong, and play it anyway.

RecallChess plugs that gap.

The moment a chess.com or lichess game ends, an overlay appears on the
board showing exactly which move drifted from your prep, the book
moves you should have played, and a one-click jump back to the
Chessable variation that covers it.

## What it does

• Pinpoints the first move you (or your opponent) left book, on every
chess.com / lichess game review and the live post-game screen.

• Shows the actual moves your repertoire prescribes from the position
you drifted from — labelled, ranked, deep-linked to chessable.

• "Continuations in the book" panel from any position lets you
explore alternative book lines without leaving the game.

• Off-book hotspots: aggregate every game into a ranked list of the
positions YOUR real games keep leaving book — drill the spots that
actually bite you, not random theory.

• One-click Chessable course import. No manual PGN, no spreadsheet.
Sign in to chessable.com and the extension imports the courses you
  already own.

• Manual PGN upload too — combine purchased courses + your own files
  into a single repertoire.

## Privacy posture

• Your repertoire and games never touch our servers. Stored only in
your browser (IndexedDB on the web app, chrome.storage.local on the
  extension).

• Your chessable session token is read on-demand for a sync, used
immediately, and never written to extension storage.

• Sign-out wipes all user-tied storage from your device.

• Authentication uses Google Firebase. No analytics SDKs, no
  tracking, no advertising networks.

## How to use

1. Install the extension.
2. Sign in at recallchess.app (free).
3. Connect your Chessable courses with one click — or upload a PGN.
   Pick what you're actively studying.
4. Play and review on chess.com / lichess. The overlay shows up
   automatically.
