About

Weevil turns "it's broken, can't reproduce it" into a bug report your team can actually act on.

With one click, Weevil records exactly what happened on screen — plus the console output, network requests, and user actions that led up to the bug — all bundled into a single, shareable report your developers can review like a video with a timeline.

Who it's for
QA testers, support teams, and product teams who file bug reports for developers, and developers who are tired of "steps to reproduce" that don't reproduce anything.

How it works
1. Click the Weevil icon (or start a capture from your Weevil dashboard) and hit Start.
2. Use the site or app as you normally would. Weevil records your screen and timestamps console logs, network requests, clicks, keystrokes, and navigation as they happen.
3. Click Stop. Review the recording, add a title and description, then choose to save it to your workspace or discard it. Nothing is uploaded until you choose to save.

What gets captured — only while you are actively recording
- Screen recording and screenshots of the tab you chose to capture
- Console logs and uncaught runtime errors
- Network requests and responses (method, URL, status, timing, headers)
- Clicks, keystrokes, scrolling, and page navigation
- Basic page and performance metadata (URL, title, load timing)

Privacy by design
Weevil only ever records the tab you explicitly start capturing — never silently and never in the background. You choose when to start and stop, and you review every report before it leaves your device. Sensitive header values such as auth tokens and cookies are redacted by default, and redaction can be adjusted from the extension's options page. If you discard a capture, it is never uploaded.

Weevil is built to help you debug any site — your own product, a client's staging environment, or a local dev server — which is why it requests access to the page you're on, only for the duration of your recording.

A Weevil account is required to save and share reports. Sign in or create a workspace at theweevil.space
