SwoopScores brings professor ratings from RateMyProfessor directly into the University of Utah's class scheduling site, so you can make informed enrollment decisions without ever switching tabs.

What it does:

When you browse courses on the U of U class schedule, SwoopScores detects instructor names and loads their ratings in the background automatically. A small color-coded star badge appears next to every professor name as soon as the data loads:

★ Green — highly rated (3.5 / 5 or above)
★ Orange — mixed reviews (2.5 – 3.49)
★ Red — lower rated (below 2.5)

Click any badge to open a compact popup showing:

-Overall Quality score (out of 5)
-Level of Difficulty
-Would-Take-Again percentage
-Total number of ratings
-A direct link to the professor's full RateMyProfessor profile

Why install it?

Registering for classes is one of the most annoying things about college life. You need to get all your credits, take enjoyable classes, fit them into your schedule, and find good professors. This extension takes some of the pain out of this process, automatically telling you other students experiences with professors and their classes.

Privacy

SwoopScores collects absolutely no personal data. It does not track you, log your searches, or send any information about you anywhere. The only network requests it makes are to the public RateMyProfessor API to fetch ratings. Ratings are cached locally in your browser's session storage to minimize requests, and the cache is automatically cleared as soon as you close your browser.

Permissions

Storage — caches professor ratings locally during your session to reduce API calls and keep load times fast. Also caches the University of Utah's RateMyProfessor school ID so it only needs to be looked up once.
Host access to class-schedule.app.utah.edu and ratemyprofessors.com — required to read instructor names on the registration page and fetch their ratings from the API.
