About

9K Extension Bodyguard helps you understand what your installed Chrome extensions can access.

Chrome extensions can request different kinds of access. 9K Extension Bodyguard reviews the extensions installed in Chrome and explains declared permissions, site access patterns, and local permission changes in plain language.

What it helps review:

• Installed Chrome extensions
• Declared API permissions
• Declared site access patterns
• Broad or powerful access that may be worth understanding
• Permission changes since your last local review
• Trust marks and private local notes saved on this device

9K Extension Bodyguard is local only. It does not scan websites, read page content, read browsing history, read cookies, monitor live browsing behavior, sync data to a server, use analytics, show ads, call remote APIs, or make AI calls.

Permission change history is based on local snapshots. When you open or refresh the dashboard, the extension compares current declared permissions with the last saved local review. You can mark changes reviewed when you want the current declared access to become your latest local snapshot.

Local notes and trust marks are saved only on this device using Chrome extension storage.

Requested permissions:

management: used to read installed extension names, versions, enabled state, icons, and declared permissions so the dashboard can explain extension access locally.

storage: used to save local notes, trust marks, welcome screen state, language preference, and local permission review snapshots on this device.

Limitations:

9K Extension Bodyguard is based on declared permissions exposed by Chrome, not live behavior. It does not verify developer reputation, classify extensions as good or bad, detect malware, block attacks, or provide real-time protection.
