Jean2Browser

About

Jean2Browser is a companion extension for Jean2, the open-source AI agent. It connects your browser directly to a locally running Jean2 server, giving the AI agent the ability to see and interact with web pages on your behalf.

How It Works
1. Connect to your server Enter your local Jean2 server URL (e.g. http://localhost:8742) and optional API token via the extension popup
2. The AI takes action When you ask Jean2 to perform a web task, the agent sends instructions to this extension through a secure WebSocket connection
3. You stay in control Every browser action is initiated by the AI agent you're actively chatting with. No background activity happens without an active session

Capabilities
- Read page content Extracts visible text from any open web page so the AI can understand what's on screen
- Navigate Opens URLs and follows links in the active tab
- Click, type, and interact Fills out forms, clicks buttons, selects dropdowns, and more through realistic DOM interactions
- Discover elements Identifies interactive elements (links, buttons, inputs) on the page so the AI knows what it can work with
- Manage tabs Open, close, and switch between browser tabs

Privacy & Security
- 100% local The extension connects exclusively to your Jean2 server running on your machine. No data is sent to external services or cloud endpoints
- No tracking Zero analytics, telemetry, or third-party data collection
- Open source Fully auditable codebase available at github.com/rabbyte-tech/jean2
- User-initiated only Browser actions only occur within active AI chat sessions you control

- This extension does not work as a standalone tool. It requires the Jean2
