About

Overview
========
Shorts Replay Disabler gives you control over how short-form videos behave on YouTube. When you finish watching a Short, the player no longer loops endlessly — it pauses, and optionally moves on to the next one.

Features
========
- Stop replay (on by default)
  Each Short plays once and then pauses, instead of looping forever.

- Auto-advance to next Short (off by default)
  When a Short ends, automatically move to the next one. Combined with Stop replay, this gives you a continuous feed of unique Shorts without scrolling. Turning Auto-advance on will also turn on Stop replay.

How to control it
==================
Three ways to flip the toggles:
1. Click the toolbar icon to open the popup.
2. Right-click anywhere on a youtube.com/shorts page to open the "Shorts Replay Disabler" submenu.
3. Your settings sync across devices when Chrome sync is enabled.

How it works
============
On youtube.com/shorts pages, the extension:
1. Removes the HTML5 "loop" attribute from the video element.
2. Listens for the video's "ended" event and pauses the player.
3. (Optional) Scrolls to the next Short when the current one ends.

That's it. No injected UI on the page itself, no buttons added to YouTube, no overlays during playback.

Privacy
=======
- Does not collect, store, or transmit any user data.
- Does not send data to any server.
- Does not read your browsing history, cookies, or account information.
- All logic runs locally in your browser. Your two toggle settings are stored only in your own Chrome storage.

Permissions
===========
- "storage": To remember your toggle state across sessions and sync between devices when Chrome sync is on.
- "contextMenus": To show the right-click toggle menu on /shorts/ pages.
- "youtube.com" host access: To run the small content script that controls video looping.

No other permissions are requested.

Limitations
===========
- Only affects videos on www.youtube.com and m.youtube.com.
- Right-clicking directly on the video shows YouTube's own menu, not ours. Right-click on the surrounding page area to see our toggles.
- Does not change autoplay behaviour for regular (non-Shorts) videos.
- May temporarily break if YouTube changes how their Shorts player handles looping. Updates will follow when that happens.

Disclaimer
