About

TubeSnaps is a lightweight Chrome extension designed for one clear purpose: capturing clean screenshots from YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts.

Instead of using your computer’s screenshot tool, manually cropping the video area, or waiting for YouTube player controls to disappear, TubeSnaps captures the current video frame directly and gives you a clean image without player buttons, progress bars, timestamps, or other interface elements.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Capture the current frame from standard YouTube videos
• Capture screenshots from YouTube Shorts
• Save captured frames as PNG images
• Copy screenshots directly to your clipboard
• Avoid player controls and interface overlays in the final image
• Capture frames without uploading the video to another website
• Use the extension directly while watching YouTube

HOW TO USE TUBESNAPS

1. Open a YouTube video or YouTube Short.
2. Play or pause the video at the frame you want to capture.
3. Click the TubeSnaps extension icon.
4. Choose to save the frame as a PNG file or copy it to your clipboard.
5. Use the image in your notes, documents, presentations, design tools, or content workflow.

WHO IS TUBESNAPS FOR?

TubeSnaps is useful for:
• Content creators collecting visual references
• Students saving frames for study notes
• Researchers documenting information from videos
• Designers creating moodboards or presentation materials
• Editors collecting reference images from video content
• Teachers preparing educational materials
• Marketers creating social media or content-planning assets
• Anyone who needs a clean still image from a YouTube video

WHY USE TUBESNAPS?

Normal screenshot tools often capture browser tabs, video controls, subtitles, progress bars, and other unwanted interface elements. Removing those elements usually requires additional cropping or image editing.

TubeSnaps simplifies the process by capturing the video frame itself, helping you save time and produce cleaner screenshots.

PRIVACY
TubeSnaps processes captured video frames locally in your browser.
• Captured screenshots are not uploaded to TubeSnaps servers
• TubeSnaps does not store your captured images
• No account or registration is required
• TubeSnaps does not read the contents of your clipboard
• Clipboard access is only used when you explicitly choose to copy a screenshot
• TubeSnaps does not include advertising tracking, analytics, telemetry, or remote code

The extension only accesses supported YouTube pages when required to perform the screenshot function.

TubeSnaps is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
