About
TabOnion is a local-first browser session manager for people who regularly work with too many tabs. Use it to save a group of browser tabs as a clean session, close tab clutter, and restore the work later when you need it. Sessions can be organized into collections, searched, copied, restored, and used as a lightweight research memory for your browser. Why install TabOnion? • Save tabs before they become clutter Capture your current work into a named browser session, then close the tabs without losing the trail. • Restore work when you need it Bring back a saved session all at once, or open only the links you want. • Organize research into collections Group related sessions into collections such as product research, reading lists, launch plans, or client work. • Keep the core workflow local TabOnion is designed as a local-first extension. Default capture stores selected tab titles and URLs locally. • Prepare saved work for AI when you choose For users who need reusable research context, TabOnion can help turn saved sessions into summaries, source maps, Markdown, and AI-ready context through explicit user actions. Privacy boundary TabOnion does not upload cookies, passwords, form input values, browser session tokens, or private page content. It does not scan your full browser history in the background. Markdown extraction, sync, and Pro-related features only run when you explicitly choose to use them. Free features include local capture, close, restore, search, basic collections, copy links, and trash recovery. Pro access is intended for advanced workflows such as Markdown export, AI-ready context, source maps, encrypted sync, and extended organization tools.
