Changelog
- May 26, 2026description
Simulate and train grapheme synesthesia. With enough time and practice this may improve cognitive abilities such as color perception and visualization, reading comprehension and speed, memory, and verbal abilities. (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4235407/). Open source: https://github.com/davebren/rainbow-text When enabled for a website this extension will modify all of the characters A through Z and numbers 0 through 9 to a unique color. You can use the default colors or you can pick your own. In order to provide a reliable experience the extension is currently enabled with an opt-in policy for each website. Not all websites will function correctly when it is enabled. Enabling dynamic content will allow the extension to execute as text is added to the webpage. The default colors will work best on dark themed websites. Other extensions can be used to apply a dark theme to all websites, but it may also slightly modify the text colors. Play training games to improve faster and eventually learn to read text only by color. Then enable hardcore mode for some fun. Feedback is welcome on the github page.

Version log: 0.4: - Added support for spanish characters like accents and umlauts. These use the same colors as the normal letters have their own block glyphs so they can be differentiated. - Hardcore mode now uses circles for lowercase characters and squares for uppercase. - Donation support button.
