Changelog

  • Apr 23, 2026
    description
DynamicFavorites replaces the built-in favorites bar with one that stays hidden until you need it. Move your mouse to the top of the page and it slides into view. You get full access to your bookmarks without the clutter.

    What it does:

    * Hide-on-demand bar that appears on hover (with adjustable trigger area and delay)
    * Display your existing bookmarks and folders
    * Open folders on hover or click (your choice)
    * Drag and drop to reorganize, including dropping URLs from the address bar to create new bookmarks
    * Right-click for quick actions: open, open all, rename, delete
    * Rename bookmarks directly from the bar
    * Access your browser's native favorites manager with one click

    Optional new tab page:

The extension includes a new tab page override (off by default). This exists so the favorites bar can appear on new tabs with the same look and behavior as on regular pages. The new tab page also includes a clock, search bar, top sites, and recently closed tabs.

If you use another new tab extension, install it after this one. The last-installed extension's new tab takes priority.

    Customize to your taste:

    * Bar height, spacing, and font size
    * Animation speed and transition behavior
    * Full-width or content-width bar, with alignment and corner radius options
    * Light, dark, or system theme
    * Visibility toggle for the manage button
    * New tab: clock format, search engine, number of top sites and recent tabs

    About this extension:

This is a personal extension I built for myself, so it is highly opinionated. Sharing it in case others would find it useful. Feedback or ideas are appreciated, but unless I find a use for it myself, I would not want to feature creep the extension.
