About

PageTimer counts the time you're actually on a site, not the tabs you left open and forgot about. Set daily limits that actually stick, and keep all of it on your device.

KEY FEATURES

⏱ It counts the time you're really there
The timer only runs when a tab is in front of you and Chrome is focused. Look away, switch tabs, or minimize the window and it quietly pauses, so your numbers reflect real attention.

🔒 Private by design
Your site names and times are saved right here on your device with chrome.storage and cleared out after 35 days. Nothing is ever uploaded, synced, or sold.

📊 Today, this week, this month
Flip between today, the last 7 days, and the last 30 to see what's really been pulling your attention, ranked by time and how recently you visited.

⏰ Daily limits per site
Give any site a daily limit, down to the minute. Then decide what happens when you hit it:
• Notify — a gentle nudge when you reach your limit
• Block — a full-page prompt you can't scroll past

🛑 An interruption you can't ignore
Hit your limit and the page freezes with a prompt. Block it, grab 15 more minutes, or call it a day. Your choice.

🔓 Unblock on your terms
Changed your mind? Unblock a site for the rest of the day in a single click, right from the page or the popup. Come back to a blocked site and PageTimer asks if you really mean to.

🕵️ Anonymous analytics only
PageTimer collects a small amount of anonymous usage data (e.g. "popup opened", "limit saved") to help decide what to build next. No URLs, hostnames, browsing history, or personal information is ever collected. Full details are in the privacy policy linked below.

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

• Tabs - to detect the active tab and attribute time to the correct website hostname
• Storage - to save your time data and limits locally on your device
• Alarms - to flush data every 30 seconds in case the service worker restarts
• Notifications - to nudge you when a "notify" time limit is reached
• Scripting + host access - to show the in-page limit and unblock prompts on the sites you've set limits on
