About

Salesforce Lens is a developer and admin productivity tool built specifically
for Salesforce users. It adds a powerful SOQL query and data exploration
interface directly inside your browser - no external tools, no setup, no
credentials to manage.

─── FEATURES ───────────────────────────────────────────

▸ Data Export & Query Runner
Write and execute SOQL, Tooling API, and QueryAll queries against your
Salesforce org. Results are displayed in a rich table with instant
filtering and export to Excel, CSV, or JSON. Handles large datasets
with progressive batch streaming and a real-time row counter.

▸ Smart Object & Field Browser
Type a query and Salesforce Lens automatically detects the SObject from
your FROM clause and shows its queryable fields. Click any field to insert
it into your query. Supports relationship traversal - type a dot after a
lookup field (e.g. Account.Owner.) to explore related object fields inline.

▸ Autocomplete & Date Literals
Context-aware suggestions appear as you type: SObject names after FROM,
fields and functions in SELECT, and Salesforce date literals
(TODAY, LAST_N_DAYS:n, THIS_FISCAL_YEAR, etc.) after WHERE comparison
operators. Aggregate functions (COUNT, SUM, AVG) and FIELDS() shortcuts
  are also suggested in SELECT.

▸ Query History & Saved Queries
Every successfully executed query is saved to your history (last 100
entries). Pin the ones you run often as Saved Queries, or promote them
to reusable Templates with a name and description.

▸ Templates
Built-in templates get you started instantly with common Salesforce
queries (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Cases, Users, and more).
Save your own templates and access them alongside the built-ins from
  the Templates dropdown.

▸ Multi-Tab Workflow
Open as many query tabs as you need. Each tab tracks its own SOQL,
object context, and field suggestions independently. Switch between
  them without losing your work.

▸ Light / Dark / System Theme
Matches your OS preference by default, or pick light or dark manually.
Your preference is saved across sessions.

▸ Org Identity at a Glance
The toolbar popup and query editor always show your connected org's
hostname and your user's full name, so you always know which org
  you are querying.

─── SECURITY ───────────────────────────────────────────

Salesforce Lens reads your active Salesforce session from your open
Salesforce tab - the same session your browser already holds. It does
not store, transmit, or share your session credentials with any external
server. All query results stay in your browser. Data saved to Saved
Queries and Templates is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage,
on your device only.

The extension only activates on *.salesforce.com, *.force.com, and
*.lightning.force.com pages. The toolbar icon is intentionally disabled
on all other websites.

─── WHO IS IT FOR? ─────────────────────────────────────

- Salesforce admins who need to inspect or export org data quickly
- Developers building integrations who need to explore the data model
- Support teams who need fast read access to record details
- Anyone who wants a faster alternative to Workbench or Developer Console

─── DISCLAIMER ─────────────────────────────────────────

Salesforce Lens is an independently built tool. It is not affiliated with,
endorsed by, or supported by Salesforce.com, Inc. Use of the name
"Salesforce" refers solely to compatibility with the Salesforce platform.
