About

Quick Text Ref is a productivity extension that lets you save text snippets and expand them anywhere on the web — Gmail, Facebook, CRMs, web forms — just by typing a short keyword followed by Space.

INSTANT TEXT EXPANSION
Type your shortcut and press Space. The shortcut is instantly replaced with your full saved text. Works in any text box, email compose window, or rich-text editor.

DYNAMIC TOKENS
Make your snippets smarter with built-in tokens:
• {date} — inserts today's date (e.g. 24/06/2026)
• {date+3:YYYY-MM-DD} — date with offset and custom format
• {time:HH:mm} — current time
• {clip1}, {clip2} ... {clip10} — paste from your clipboard history
• {field:Name} — prompts you to fill in a value before inserting

FILL-IN POPUP
Snippets with {field:Label} tokens show a clean popup overlay before inserting. Fill in one or more fields, press Enter on the last one, and the full expanded text is inserted instantly.

CLIPBOARD HISTORY
Every time you copy or cut text in your browser, Quick Text Ref silently saves it. Access your last 50 copied items from the Clipboard tab. Use them in snippets via {clip1}, {clip2}, etc. No special permissions required.

ORGANISED SNIPPETS
• Group snippets into categories using / separators (e.g. Support/English, Refund/Wallet)
• Collapsible 3-level category tree sidebar for fast browsing
• Search across title, shortcut, body, and category
• Export and import snippets as JSON for backup or sharing

Click the ↗ button to open Quick Text Ref in a full browser tab — great for managing large snippet libraries on a widescreen.

PRIVACY
Quick Text Ref stores all data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage. No data is sent to any server. No account required. No ads.
