Hushtab quiets the web. It blocks trackers, tells websites not to follow you, and hardens your browser against leaks, all from one simple panel where every protection is an individual toggle.

No accounts. No data collection. No servers. Everything runs locally in your browser, and the extension never sees or stores your browsing history.

What it does:

Privacy signals

Do Not Track, sends the DNT header with every request
Global Privacy Control, sends the Sec-GPC signal, which businesses are legally required to honor in California and a growing number of other jurisdictions
Blocking

Tracker blocking, stops requests to 90+ analytics and ad-tech domains, including Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Criteo, and Taboola, with a badge that counts blocked requests
Clean tracking links, strips utm, fbclid, gclid, msclkid, and 60+ other tracking tags from URLs before pages load
Click tracking, blocks hyperlink auditing pings that report which links you click
Referrer hiding, removes the Referer header on cross-site requests so sites can't see where you came from
Browser hardening

WebRTC leak protection, keeps your local IP address from leaking during calls
Third-party cookie blocking, optional, since it can sign you out of embedded widgets
Canvas fingerprint defense, optional, adds invisible noise so sites can't build a stable fingerprint of your browser

How it works:

Hushtab is built on Chrome's modern declarativeNetRequest API. That means blocking happens inside the browser engine itself, fast, battery-friendly, and without the extension ever reading the content of the pages you visit. Flip any protection on or off and it applies instantly, no restart needed. Your settings sync across your browsers.

Sensible defaults are on from the moment you install. The two protections that can occasionally affect site functionality (third-party cookies and canvas defense) are off by default, so nothing breaks unless you choose stricter settings.
